IFSP Redesign ________

posted Nov 2, 2015, 11:08 AM by Holly Prochaska   [ updated Nov 6, 2015, 11:18 AM ]
Please make note of upcoming regional meetings about the Individual & Family Support Program Redesign:

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services’ (DBHDS) Division of Developmental Services have determined it would be in the best interests of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families to redesign the Individual and Family Support Program (IFSP).

Primarily, this program provides supports to individuals and families who are on ID/DD waiting lists for waiver services. The goals for redesign are:

To achieve a program that is more accessible to more people who need it
To increase the capacity to accommodate more individuals
To create a comprehensive program to do more than distribute funds by involving community partners and leveraging other community resources
To establish five Regional Individual Family Councils (RIFCos)

During the months of November and December 2015, DBHDS staff will be traveling throughout the state to raise awareness, gain feedback on how these programs should function, and develop a list of people who are interested in being a part of one of the RIFCos. Each session will include a short presentation about the proposed changes to the system and discussion.
